It’s really important to do your research before you buy, as there are so many TEFL course providers out there. Look out for Ofqual-regulated certificates which basically means the content, teaching and materials have been scrutinised to a high level of quality. You’ll also want to make sure you get at least 120 hours of training, which is the industry benchmark for employers worldwide.
Teacher salaries vary from country to country so it does depend where you teach, but most TEFL roles will pay a salary that’s enough to live comfortably by local standards. Top end? In some countries you could earn up to £2,000 a month!
You don’t need to speak another language to teach English abroad. Many schools prefer that TEFL lessons take place completely in English, so that’s all you need.
Once you’re TEFL qualified, the doors will open to thousands of roles all over the world, in any country where people are keen to learn English. This basically means there are opportunities everywhere!
You certainly will. Our team will support you throughout your course, and after that you’ll have access to thousands of great exclusive roles worldwide through our famous TEFL jobs board.
There are loads of great, varied roles available to TEFL teachers if you’re in it for the long haul. Fantastic roles are available like Director of Studies, and even TEFL Course Designers (like our tutors!) – the world is your oyster once you’ve got some experience under your belt!
